Dr. Nadeem Akhtar is working as Chairperson and Associate Professor Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Computing, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. He has 20 years of experience in teaching and research in Universities in Pakistan and Europe. He successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis - titled "Contribution to the formal specification and verification of a multi-agent robotic system" - with distinction “Tres Honorable (magna cum laude)" on Thursday 2nd of September 2010 from IRISA, University of South Brittany (UBS), Bretagne, FRANCE. He completed his MS (Master-2) with specialization in Information System Architecture from Institut Universitaire Professionnalisé (IUP), University of South Brittany, Bretagne, FRANCE in 2006. He is the recipient of a number of awards, scholarships, and research grants i.e. Study in France 2004 French Embassy scholarship for MS(Computer Science) studies, Higher Education Commission (HEC) overseas scholarship 2006 for Ph.D. studies in France, Teaching assistant for ENSIBS - UBS France, HEC Start-up research grant of 0.5 million in 2012, Student research project grant from ICT in 2014. His research areas are Formal verification & validation, Formal modeling, Safety-Critical systems, Data analytics, and Machine Learning. He has been supervising Ph.D. (CS) and MS(CS) research.One Ph.D. and 74 MS students have completed their thesis under the supervision of Dr. Nadeem Akhtar.His contributions to scientific research are reflected in the form of 54 research articles published in reputed International Journals.
